The Santa Clarita Community College District is scheduled to host public forums on March 23 in which finalists for the superintendent/president position at College of the Canyons will address college employees and members of the community.
The finalists are:
• Jeffrey Archibald, vice president of academic affairs at West Los Angeles College.
• Lataria Hall, interim vice chancellor of educational services and institutional effectiveness at West Hills Community College District.
• Marvin Martinez, chancellor of the Rancho Santiago Community College District.
• Jasmine Ruys, interim superintendent/president of College of the Canyons.
Each candidate is scheduled to participate in an individual 50-minute forum at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center on Monday, March 23, offering opening remarks and responding to questions submitted in advance.
The first forum is to be held at 9 a.m. The full schedule, along with Zoom links for those who wish to attend remotely, are available at canyons.edu/ceo.
The district’s board of trustees is scheduled to interview finalists in closed session on March 24 and is expected to approve the new CEO’s contract at its May board meeting. The new superintendent/president is anticipated to begin serving in July.
“This was a comprehensive national search, and we were pleased with the depth and quality of the applicant pool, which reflects the district’s reputation as an innovative leader in higher education,” Board of Trustees President Sharlene Johnson said in a news release from COC.
