News release

Golden Oak Adult School has announced the upcoming launch of its phlebotomy technician (CPT 1) program, beginning April 1.

Offered in partnership with UCLA, this accelerated course is designed to provide Santa Clarita Valley residents with a fast-track entry into the essential and rapidly growing field of health care, said a news release from the school.

As the demand for skilled health care professionals continues to rise, phlebotomists remain at the front lines of patient care and diagnostic medicine. The Golden Oak program offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines rigorous classroom theory with hands-on clinical experience, preparing students for the national certification exam and California state licensure, the release said.

“Our mission at Golden Oak is to empower our community with the technical skills needed for today’s changing workforce,” Bryan Wilson, principal of Golden Oak Adult School, said in the release. “By partnering with UCLA, we ensure our students receive world-class training that leads directly to meaningful career opportunities in hospitals, diagnostic labs and clinics.”

The health care sector is projected to see significant growth through 2026 and beyond, according to the release. Phlebotomy serves as an entry point for those looking to start a new career or as a stepping stone toward nursing and other advanced medical roles.
