Officials with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner have released the name of the man who died of a self-inflicted gunshot at Oak Tree Gun Club in Newhall last week.
Joe Varoz, 23, of Norwalk, was identified as the man who died at Oak Tree Gun Club.
L.A. County Fire Department personnel reported that paramedics were dispatched to the 23100 block of Coltrane Avenue, where the club is located, regarding “an (emergency medical services) call,” according to Kaitlyn Aldana, who said she could not release any additional information about the call during initial reports on Tuesday afternoon.
Fire Department personnel were dispatched at 3:02 p.m. and on the scene at 3:11 p.m., Aldana said.
Firefighters left by 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
