A 37-year-old Santa Clarita woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI and a warrant after California Highway Patrol Newhall-area officers conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet Malibu early Thursday near Ada Street and Loretta Lane and determined that she had an arrest warrant, according to an official with the CHP Newhall-area Office.

The warrant was related to a prior DUI case involving resisting and obstructing a peace officer from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, according to an email statement by Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, spokesman for the CHP.

The call went out at 1:40 a.m. Thursday when officers conducted the traffic stop and contacted the driver, according to Burgos-Lopez’s statement.

Officers on the scene investigated and ultimately arrested the woman on suspicion of DUI and the warrant, the statement said.

She was uncooperative during her arrest, ultimately assaulting an officer, according to the statement.

The woman was booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station, and the incident is still under investigation, Burgos-Lopez’s statement said.

No injuries were reported during the incident, the statement said.
