News release
The city of Santa Clarita is reinforcing the importance of water safety through a free, community-focused event, Water Safety Day, scheduled 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center. The event is open to all ages and is designed to provide hands-on experience and practical safety knowledge for families.
Guests can participate in interactive stations focused on drowning prevention, emergency response and safe behavior around water, said a news release from the city. City lifeguards will lead live rescue demonstrations, offering insight into real-life emergency situations, while safety experts will guide attendees through essential skills such as hands-only CPR and how to properly call 9-1-1.
Local partners will also be on site, including the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, sharing safety information and displaying specialized equipment used in emergency response.
Attendees visiting each activity station can complete a stamp card and receive a free family pass for recreational swim at the Aquatic Center.
The Aquatic Center is located at 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita. For more information, visit SantaClarita.gov/Aquatics.
