Deputies: Man arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft after driving stolen vehicle in Stevenson Ranch

A 52-year-old Van Nuys man was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and vehicle theft with a prior conviction around 4 p.m. on Monday in the area of The Old Road and Pico Canyon Road in Stevenson Ranch, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. 

The vehicle that the suspect was driving had been reported stolen last month, and the suspect was also found to have a prior conviction for grand theft auto, according to an email statement by Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station.  

He was arrested on suspicion of felony charges for vehicle theft and vehicle theft with a prior conviction, the statement said. 

He is not currently in custody at the time of this publication, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s custody records online.
