News release
The Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency invites customers and other interested parties to review its draft Water Use Efficiency Strategic Plan, which is now available for public review.
The WUESP is being developed to establish a comprehensive water conservation strategy for the Santa Clarita Valley, said a news release from the agency.
The WUESP is a key planning and strategic component for SCV Water that will inform, influence, and impact multiple facets of the agency’s operations, services and initiatives, the release said.
Members of the public are invited to review the draft WUESP ahead of a SCV Water board of directors meeting on Tuesday, May 12, at which the plan is scheduled to be considered for adoption.
Included in the WUESP are strategic measures for the agency to implement, as well as a Water Demand Forecast tool and methods for tracking performance and reporting. The result will be a WUESP that meets state of California conservation requirements while improving demand forecasting, the release said. This enhanced forecasting will also support future Urban Water Management Plans, water supply planning, and investments, as well as aid in revenue planning and rate design.
