A man arrested Monday on suspicion of a misdemeanor indecent exposure charge for an incident alleged at Whole Foods Market posted bail and was released the same day, according to L.A. County Sheriff’s Department custody records.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials issued an alert Monday confirming the arrest, which was first reported in The Signal. He was held in lieu of $100,000 bail, briefly.

An arrest warrant obtained by the Sheriff’s Department detailed the allegations made against Jared Paul Estrada, 28, of Valencia.

“The suspect followed her throughout various aisles of the store. While the victim was crouching down in an aisle deciding which product to buy, the suspect stood over her at proximity with his exposed penis out of his pants,” according to the detective’s report. “The suspect had his cell phone in one hand and he appeared to be recording himself placing his penis near the victim’s face as seen on store surveillance footage and per the victim’s statement.”

Station officials had obtained a Ramey warrant April 1 for the arrest of Estrada, after he was identified through surveillance footage, his transaction history and a witness, according to the warrant. A Ramey warrant is California-specific and allows a law enforcement agency to obtain an arrest warrant by presenting evidence to a judge, bypassing the District Attorney’s Office.

Estrada was arrested in Orange County on Monday by deputies with the Crime Impact Team, according to a source familiar with the investigation.

He was booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station at 12:15 p.m., and released a little after 4 p.m., per custody records.

He has not been formally charged by the L.A. County DA’s Office as of this story’s publication, based on L.A. County Superior Court records available online. The DA’s Office was not immediately available to respond to a question for this story.
