A man was pronounced dead at the hospital after the California Highway Parol’s L.A. County Communications Center broadcasted a call of a vehicle facing sideways in the HOV lane on the southbound State Route 14 north of Via Princessa in the early hours of Monday morning, according to an official with the CHP Newhall-area Office.

Officers were dispatched to the call around 12:30 a.m. and saw an unconscious man in the silver Dodge Neon and began life-saving measures until Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel arrived, according to Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez with the CHP.

The man was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, according to Burgos-Lopez.

Officers headed to the hospital where they were notified that the man was pronounced dead, Burgos-Lopez added.

There are no drugs or alcohol suspected at the time of this publication, he said.
