Newhall School District personnel recognized with California School Administrators awards

Newhall School District personnel were recognized during Tuesday’s governing board meeting last week, for being named 2025-26 Santa Clarita Valley Association of California School Administrators Award recipients.  

The award recognizes students, administrators and community organizations for their achievements and dedication to public education at both the regional and state levels, according to the association’s official website.  

This year, the Newhall district saw 16 of its administrators recognized, with four of them also named SCV Charter honorees,and will be invited to a spring banquet this month for the achievement.  

Straightening Reins was recognized as the nonprofit organization for the Partners in Excellence award.  

The following district administrators were recognized for the following awards:  

  • Traci Curtis for the Fred Kiesel Distinguished Service Award. 
  • Daria Ramirez for the Marcus Foster Award for Administrator Excellence. 
  • Jackie Tapia for the Valuing Diversity Award. 
  • Chad Rose for the David Millen Mentoring Award. 
  • Superintendent Leticia Hernandez. 
  • Diana Stenroos for elementary school principal. 
  • Chad Rose for central office administrator. 
  • Erica Camara for elementary co-administrator. 
  • Ken Hintz for classified leader. 
  • Amanda Montemayor for personnel/human resources administrator. 
  • Mayra Nunez for special education administrator. 
  • Arik Avanesyans for business services administrator. 
  • Ruth Mouawad Dougall for student services administrator. 
  • Kate Peattie for curriculum and instruction administrator. 
  • Ken McGaffee for technology administrator. 
  • Sara Garate for promising administrator.
