A bicyclist was transported by helicopter after suffering a cardiac arrest on the 21400 block of west Copper Hill Drive in Saugus on Saturday morning, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The call went out around 11:19 a.m. and firefighters were immediately dispatched to the Haskell Canyon Open Space area, according to Jonathan Torres, spokesman for the Fire Department.
Firefighters arrived on the scene within minutes of getting dispatched, he added.
A helicopter was on the way to the hospital at 11:50 a.m., arriving 11 minutes later, Torres said.
The call closed at 12:23 p.m., he said.
Torres said he could not confirm the gender of the patient.
According to the Citizen app during initial reports Saturday, a bicyclist suffered an injury after landing neck-first at around 11:15 a.m. Saturday on the 21450 block of Copper Hill Drive.
The PulsePoint emergency app indicated that first responders were dispatched to Copper Hill Drive for a medical emergency call.
