A man was found dead in a semi-truck on the 31000 block of Castaic Road near Ridge Route Road and Fantastic Lane on Monday afternoon, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Cesar Salmeron Zelaya, 61, of Coalinga, was the man who was found dead in the semi-truck, according to Kelly Vail, spokeswoman for Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

The call went out as a cardiac arrest around 12:18 p.m., Keith Navarre, spokesman for the Fire Department, said during a phone interview on Tuesday morning.

The man was found unresponsive in the semi-truck and there were no transports, he said.

The call closed at 12:33 p.m., Navarre said.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies were also called to the scene in response to a report of a medical emergency, according to Sgt. R. Arambulo, who declined to give his first name, at the station.

Arambulo added that next-of-kin was notified at the time of this publication.
