A drive-by shooting in Canyon Country remained under investigation Friday after the suspects fled in a vehicle and a man was left unharmed Thursday night, according to a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station spokesman.

According to Sgt. Mark Perkins with the SCV Sheriff’s Station, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Stillmore Street and Whites Canyon Road in Canyon Country at 9:55 p.m.

The victim, a man, stated he was walking along the street when a vehicle pulled up next to him that had multiple male occupants. The occupants in the vehicle started asking the victim questions such as where he was from, Perkins said, before they fired at him.

The man did not sustain any injuries and details on the occupants, and the suspected vehicle, were not immediately available.

The vehicle then fled and remains at large as of the publication of this story, Perkins added. The incident could be gang-related, and deputies are continuing their investigation into the circumstances.

At least six shell casings were located by deputies when they conducted their investigation.

Austin Dave, of KNN, contributed to this report.
