A 30-year-old man was taken into custody for multiple federal warrants after being stopped on Calgrove Boulevard in Newhall, according to Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, public information officer for the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office.
According to Burgos-Lopez, officers conducted an enforcement stop Monday night at approximately 11:50 p.m. The suspect exited onto Calgrove Boulevard after speeding on northbound Interstate 5, according to the CHP.
While contacting the suspect, the officers discovered that he had “multiple federal, no-bail warrants out of FBI San Francisco. [The suspect] was placed under arrest for the open warrants and booked into the Lerdo Justice Facility in Bakersfield,” Burgos-Lopez wrote in an email to The Signal.
The outstanding warrants included “felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition,” in addition to “possession of a firearm and explosives,” according to Burgos-Lopez.
In addition, the suspect was on post-release community supervision regarding a burglary in Alameda.
The suspect was arrested without incident.
