I am endorsing TimBen Boydston for re-election for many reasons, but here are a couple of the major ones.
Two of the candidates with big money in their election funds are Bob Kellar and Cameron Smyth.
Think about it. Where did these big-money donations come from?
Much of the money came from people who need Bob Kellar’s or Cameron Smyth’s votes on future projects, and the donations may sway their votes and not be in the best interest of Santa Clarita residents.
Bob Kellar voted for the freeway electronic billboards against the will of the residents, and while on the City Council from 2000 to 2006, Cameron Smyth approved many housing projects when our roads could not handle the additional traffic.
On the other hand, we have a councilman seeking re-election who is the “voice of the people”: TimBen Boydston.
TimBen Boydston stood strong with the community against the electronic billboards on our freeways and in our dedicated open space. Councilman TimBen Boydston actually had the applicant admit we were not getting the best deal for the project, while the other four council members – one being Bob Kellar – still voted for the project against the pleas of the residents.
TimBen Boydston does not rubber-stamp projects; he does his homework on the issues and votes with his conscience and for the residents of Santa Clarita.
