“SCV lawmakers line up behind anti-Cemex bill” was a headline in Tuesday’s Signal. Why am I still seeing the name “Cemex” in the paper?

This is a prime example of what’s wrong with government today – there is never an ending or conclusion to a problem; it just goes on and on and on.

I thought when our City Council hung that huge banner across Valencia Boulevard in front of City Hall several years ago: “Thanks, Buck” for helping get rid of the Cemex problem, that we had seen the end.

But no, more legal challenges and delays and now even old Buck McKeon is gone and Cemex is still here. “Thanks, Buck,” enjoy your retirement in Virginia.

So now a new crop of politicians will try to take over the fight. Will it really ever end?
