The Master’s University baseball team defeated William Jessup University of Rocklin, 7-3, at TMU on Friday afternoon after a sixth-inning comeback for its second win in Golden State Athletic Conference play.
David Sheaffer was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Jonah Jarrard was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
“It was good to see our middle of the order clutch up when we needed them,” said coach Monte Brooks. “For those two seniors to have success today, we count on them and they delivered, so that was pretty special for us.”

Saugus High graduate and Mustangs starting pitcher Robert Winslow earned the win, allowing three runs on seven hits over six innings.
He struck out three and walked one.
William Jessup put up a 2-0 lead in the third inning and was ahead 3-0 by the bottom of the sixth.
But TMU (8-10 overall, 2-5 GSAC) exploded in the sixth inning to pull ahead 4-3. With the bases loaded, Jarrard doubled to right center, sending Ricky Sottile and Moises Garcia home.
Sheaffer then hit a two-run home run.
The Mustangs scored once in the seventh, then twice in the eighth, helped by a Warrior error in each inning.
The Mustangs play William Jessup today in a double header beginning at 11 a.m.
“Baseball is tough to win three in a row every weekend,” Brooks said. “So every game is a challenge, every game brings little nuances, and we just have to have the ability to concentrate and relax at the same time so we can execute.”
