Here is the Saugus Crime Information and Public Safety Report for the Week of June 12, 2017 to June 18, 2017:

During the last week there were 4 reports of thefts from vehicles. All of the vehicle doors were unlocked and items such as purses, wallets and sunglasses were stolen.

A “Bob Cat” tractor was taken from a construction site on La Madrid/Plum Canyon. The tractor was recovered a short distance away from the location.

The 4th of July is quickly approaching, and our city is looking forward to celebrating. But residents need to know that we are currently in a serious drought, and fire risks are high. ALL FIREWORKS ARE ILLEGAL IN THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA. Deputies from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station will be enforcing firework laws throughout the city. The fines for these offences could cost you several hundred dollars. Instead of worrying about fines come out to a city event. Our city puts on some great, professional firework shows. Bring some chairs, and some refreshments and have a good time.

Don’t have the time to wait for a deputy to show up to your house and take a report?
The following incidents can be reported online:
-Lost or stolen cell phone valued $950 or less
-Lost or stolen property valued $950 or less
-Theft from an unlocked vehicle valued $950 or less
-Theft from an open or unsecured area valued $950 or less
