A young girl was airlifted to safety from a Valencia park Tuesday afternoon after emergency response officials received a call that she required urgent medical attention.

Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received the emergency call shortly before 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, a Fire Department spokesman said.

They were dispatched to a location on the 23000 block of Carrizo Drive, near Carillo Drive, arriving at the scene at 1:49 p.m.

“This was for one child with nausea and headache,” the Fire Department spokesman said.

Air Rescue helicopter #5 touched down “in a grassy field” at Valencia Central Valley Park next to Valencia Valley Elementary School on Carrizo, he said.

Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station helped with the rescue.

The child was taken to a local trauma center, the Fire Department spokesman said.
