The last remaining unbeaten teams in the Foothill League will meet Friday when Saugus hosts Valencia.

The Vikings (6-1, 1-0) have shaken off their only loss of the season, which came Sept. 28 against Calabasas, beating Hart and Golden Valley by a combined score of 90-21. Vikings running back Moises Haynes continued to pace the offense with 107 rushing yards and even threw for a touchdown against Golden Valley.

Saugus (4-3, 2-0) will likely enter the game with senior Elijah Gragas under center. Nathan Eldridge started the Centurions’ win over West Ranch but was forced to exit the game in the second half with a right arm injury.

The Cents have yet to declare a starter but Eldridge’s right arm was in a cast Thursday. Gragas had started the prior two games for Saugus entering the win over West Ranch as Eldridge worked his way back from a separate injury, which knocked him out in the first quarter against Ventura on Sept. 15.

Gragas got out to a rough start last Friday, throwing an interception on his first pass attempt, but redeemed himself by rushing for the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Defense and special teams have keyed Saugus’ 2-0 start in league, allowing a lone touchdown. The Cents have also collected a defensive score, a blocked punt, a safety and four interceptions in that span.
