Saugus football saw its playoff life flash before its eyes last week, winning by just one point over St. Paul of Santa Fe Springs.

The Centurions have lived to see another game in the CIF-Southern Section Division 6 players. They’ll take on Bishop Diego of Santa Barbara tonight at College of the Canyons.

Two different quarterbacks made an appearance in the Cardinals’ 59-21 win over San Marino last week. Senior David Gladish completed two of five passes for 87 yards and one touchdown, while junior Jake Engel went 3-for-8 for 107 yards and one touchdown.

Running back Adrian Soracco will likely be the biggest challenge for Saugus. The sophomore rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns last week.

The Cents bring a strong defensive line and two quality linebackers in Tyler Hampsten and James Stirwalt, who have 72 and 69 tackles, respectively, this year

The Cents bring a strong running game of their own with Quinn Sheaffer, who now has a total of 1,175 rushing yards on the season.

Quarterback Nathan Eldridge is getting back into the groove of things after battling injury for nearly half of the season.
