Sierra Hillbillies Celebrate 51st Anniversary

On Sunday Sept. 9, the Sierra Hillbillies celebrated their 51st anniversary of promoting American folkdance in Santa Clarita.

The members received a commendation from Assemblyman Dante Acosta, and with eight squares of guests enjoyed dancing to long-time favorites Charlie Robertson and Cindy Mower.

The club wishes to thank the following community sponsors for their contributions and support: Albertson’s Market, Chili’s Restaurant, Food 4 Less Market, Lazy Dog Cafe, Mimi’s Café, Olive Garden, Sizzler, Souplantation, Sprouts Market, Stater Brothers Market and Vons/Pavilions.

The Sierra Hillbillies hold dance classes under the umbrella of the Santa Clarita Parks and Recreation Department.

Monthly dances are held at the Santa Clarita Senior Center, 22900 Market St., Santa Clarita.
