Pedestrians have a responsibility to look both ways before crossing.

We were taught as children to do this and when crossing make sure you make eye contact with the driver of the car and see the car slowing down.

Otherwise, you are in danger of being hit. I don’t think people bother to do this!

And it seems they feel they are protected once they enter the crosswalk! You aren’t protected! You are in danger of being hit or killed.

Responsibility goes to both the pedestrian and the driver. It’s not always the driver’s fault!

Just today, a teenager on a bike didn’t want to wait for the green for him so he just darted out right in front of my car and went and crossed the road!

Who do you think would get blamed if I hit him? I am sure you can figure that one out.

Be aware and be safe!
