I read Mr. Jonathan Kraut’s opinion piece regarding choosing our own mayor (April 23). He certainly does have some valid points. However, in recent years I feel I have been inundated with politics. The thought of something else to vote on really leaves me cold. There would be another campaign to deal with, which would include meetings, speeches, debates, phone calls, surveys, fundraisers, posters, and anything else associated with campaigns.

Our city mayor’s current rotation term is only for one year. This is great because if that person is not acceptable to some of us we can look forward to a different mayor the next year. The rotation system is certainly much less troublesome and costly than an election is. Let’s not mess with it!
