Part 2 of 2
During the 2016 campaign, Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee were attempting to sway the election by degrading Trump with false information.
They gave the Christopher Steele dossier to the FBI and the Department of Justice and used it as a pretext to spy on then-candidate Donald Trump.
In an effort to hide their actions, and move the focus from themselves to Donald Trump, they accused him of colluding with the Russians to influence the presidential election in 2016.
Reports of the infamous texts between the FBI’s Lisa Page and Peter Strozk that have been released show there was extreme anti-Trump bias in the FBI.
We are used to this kind of abuse of power in Banana Republics, but not in the USA. We cannot let this become the new norm. It was fake when it was concocted and three years later its still considered fake, yet it was used as evidence.
Strzok said the dossier was their “insurance policy” in case by some stretch of the imagination Trump got elected.
This did not start off as a regular law enforcement investigation, it started off as a counterintelligence operation. The FBI went to the secret FISA Court, which is set up by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. There are certain evidentiary standards you have to meet to justify that, and never before in the history of the U.S. has a counterintelligence operation been opened, and sanctioned by a court against a presidential campaign. The FBI was conducting a counter-intelligence investigation into the Trump campaign for several months before Trump was elected president, which they do when they suspect there is a foreign spy involved.
But there was no foreign spy. In essence, then-President Obama’s FBI used an unverified fake scandalous dossier to obtain a warrant to spy on the opposing presidential candidate, and they had that warrant renewed three times. The officers signing the warrants failed to verify the validity of the dossier or that there actually was a foreign Russian spy involved.
Did James Comey sign the first warrant? Comey adjudged Steele’s information unverified in June 2017, when he testified in a Senate hearing that the dossier was “salacious and unverified.” The same day that James Comey exonerated Hillary Clinton in her email scandal, they began the Russian collusion hoax.
If Attorney General William Barr determines there was insufficient evidence to authorize the electronic spying on the Trump campaign, then those who requested and authorized the surveillance need to be held accountable as this would be an extraordinary abuse of power. Those people need to be indicted to ensure that this never happens again. In addition, the fact that Trump was never warned of suspected Russian interference into his campaign makes it highly suspicious. There was an unlawful effort first to influence the election and then ultimately to destroy the Trump presidency. This was an abuse of power on many levels.
The left did everything in their power to keep Trump from being elected, then when he was elected, they changed their focus from saying the election was rigged, to tearing down his presidency. The Democrats are the true obstructionists here. Trump has faced their relentless obstruction each and every day since his presidency began.
I don’t take this as merely an attack on a legitimately elected president, but an attack on our country’s Constitution, Bill of Rights, and a separation of powers between the executive, judicial and legislative branches. It’s called “checks and balances,” designed to keep us all in line, and following the laws of our country.
The reason our country is greater than most is not because of our wealth or resources, but because we are a nation of laws. We don’t have to put up fences to keep the people in – we have to put up fences to keep the people out. We are not the Russian mafia, nor some banana republic.
The Electoral College
The media has suggested for two and a half years that President Trump was illegitimately elected, and that his campaign engaged in treasonous activity to prevent Hillary Clinton from taking office. President Trump won the electoral college, which is the system our founding fathers designed to ensure that all states would be fairly represented. Here are some of the pertinent facts:
There are 3,141 counties in the United States. Trump won 3,084 and Clinton won 57.
There are 62 counties in New York State. Trump won 46 and Clinton won 16. In the five counties that encompass New York City, Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. Therefore, the five counties alone accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country. These five counties comprise 319 square miles. The United States is comprised of 3,797,000 square miles. It would be ludicrous to even suggest that the votes of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election. Large, densely populated cites do not and should not speak for the rest of the country.
The Mainstream Media
For over two years, the mainstream media has been totally fixated on a ‘Truth’ that turned out to be false. They treated the Trump-Russian collusion as a reality without any evidence to substantiate their claims. They have attacked Trump and his family relentlessly. Trump has responded with frustration and anger. Who wouldn’t? He was being castigated for something he didn’t do.
Remember “Hope and Change?” Boy did it change us. Our national debt doubled. Crime increased. Corruption blossomed. Unemployment went up and home ownership went down — in fact it was the lowest in 50 years. Manufacturing jobs left the country, unable to cope with ridiculous regulations.
Trump has accomplished much, but just imagine what he could accomplish if he had the left’s cooperation? We should be working together for the betterment of our country.
Liberals are now calling on Special Counsel Robert Mueller to testify to Congress, as if they believe they will uncover some smoking gun and there will be a huge revelation on something Mueller wasn’t able to find, but they will. Huge amounts of taxpayer money and manpower have been spent on a hoax. The Mueller report alone cost the taxpayers $35 million.
It is my sincere hope that Barr will restore credibility of the Department of Justice by finally initiating a full investigation of the abuses of power by top officials of the FBI, CIA and DOJ during Obama’s administration. Using these institutions as weapons for political gain weakens their very purpose and will lead to their destruction. We must value our institutions more than our own politics, and restore the integrity of the FBI, CIA and DOJ. Barr needs to uncover this massive corruption scandal that has Trump as its target. It’s not just Trump’s reputation that is at stake here, it’s our Republic. This is, and always was about protecting Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
The president has been a crime victim. The left’s incessant harassment of Trump and his family ought to alarm all Americans. If they can come after the president in this way, imagine how they can come after the rest of us. Do we want corrupt politicians and unelected bureaucrats to overturn our elections, or do we hold them accountable to do what they were elected to do?
The country deserves a Congress focused on the issues such as health care, infrastructure, immigration and border security, not ridiculously investigating Trump’s financial holdings.
Mueller failed to confront the issue of the whole Russia hoax and refused to deal with the corruption behind it, yet had no reservation about going after Trump’s associates for anything and everything, none of which had anything to do with Russian collusion, all with police state tactics no less.
