As the nation prepares to celebrate next year on the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, veterans from the United States Army, Navy and Marines will celebrate their organizations’ birthdays in an event dubbed Commitment to Freedom at the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center on Saturday.
Guests are encouraged to attend to honor members of the armed forces and the centuries of history of the Army, which was created on June 14, 1775, the Navy, which was created on Oct. 13, 1775, and the Marine Corps, which was created on Nov. 10, 1775.
Organized by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 355, the event will entail displays and interactive exhibits, while also garnering funds for local veterans.
Cocktails will begin at 5 p.m., with dinner slated to begin at 6 p.m.
