The Saugus Union School District announced that it has been named to the Educational Results Partnership’s 2025 Honor Roll, recognizing it as one of California’s top-performing public school districts.
The Honor Roll, now in its 11th year, is a recognition program presented by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence in collaboration with a coalition of statewide and local business leaders, including the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, according to a news release from the Saugus district.
It is the only school recognition program based solely on objective student achievement data, the release said.
“We are absolutely thrilled to receive the 2025 Honor Roll distinction,” Colleen Hawkins, superintendent of the Saugus Union School District, said in the release. “This recognition is a powerful testament to the dedication of our students, the passion of our teachers and staff, and the unwavering support of our parents and community. It validates the hard work we are doing every day to accelerate student learning in critical areas like reading, writing and math, and ensures all students, particularly those who are historically disadvantaged, are college- and career-ready.”
SUSD is one of 158 school districts in California — approximately 21% of all eligible districts in the state — to make the 2025 Honor Roll. The distinction is based on an analysis of data of student outcomes on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress for the 2023-25 academic years.
The ERP Honor Roll recognizes school districts that consistently demonstrate high levels of student achievement, improve outcomes over time, and outperform their peers in closing the achievement gap.
The Honor Roll selection process is part of a national campaign to highlight successful educational systems that are preparing students with the fundamental skills needed for success in the workforce and in life.
