Responders ‘passing the boot’ to help Burbank TSA employees affected by shutdown

Hollywood Burbank Airport police officers and firefighters will be raising money Friday for their Transportation Security Administration partners impacted by the government 

shutdown — and they’ll use firefighter boots to collect donations from passengers.  

All the money will be converted into gas cards to help TSA employees get to work in the face of rising fuel prices, according to a news release from the Hollywood Burbank Airport. 

The fundraiser is scheduled to run 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Police officers and firefighters will be carrying boots to collect money from passengers in front of the terminal – on foot and in vehicles, the release said.
