Lois Eisenberg (letters, March 11) ends her 1,675th diatribe against President Donald Trump by quoting, “the truth will set you free.” Lois, as Jack Nicholson told Tom Cruise in “A Few Good Men,” “You can’t handle the truth!”

You cited negative opinions from three out of 232 athletes who competed for America in the Milan Winter Olympics. That is 1.3% — hardly a representative group.

You didn’t hear the men’s hockey team crying out about the “toxicity” of President Trump. On the contrary, they were hooting, laughing and yelling with joy as they drank beer with FBI Director Kash Patel, a big hockey fan, in their locker room after their thrilling victory over Canada. Those same boys seemed pretty proud of their country when they visited the Oval Office and later President Trump’s State of the Union speech.

I wonder if Amber Glenn knows that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is a member of the LGBTQ community.

As for Chloe Kim being worried about mass deportations being roiled by violence, cruelty and lawlessness, I’m sure she gets her information from CNN, a proven source of false opinions and outright lies. Her parents are legal immigrants from Korea. They came here the right way.

One athlete you didn’t mention was Eileen Gu, freestyle skier who was born, raised and trains in the U.S. Yet, because her mother is Chinese, she chose to bring home gold for China in the past two Winter Olympics. And for representing the country with a horrible human rights record and our No. 1 geopolitical adversary, she was paid over $20 million. Not bad for bringing fame to the CCP.

I am proud of our spectacular Olympic athletes. About 99% of them showed their pride in our country with smiles on their faces, clutching their medals while singing our national anthem, not spouting untrue comments about President Trump’s toxicity.
