Now that the election is settled, Donald Trump has removed the brown bag mask. What we saw under it is a real estate mogul, an actor, a con man, and a neo-establishment politician.
I congratulate him on pulling off the biggest con of his career.
He conned his core supporters, conned the media, conned the alt-right, but missed the mark on Hillary supporters.
He is now wading the swamp searching through the other chameleons to fill his administration.
I must admit I bought into his now-phony persona. I am saddened that Hillary’s win was turned into a loss by a Constitutional bite.
What happens next year will be fascinating for some and frightening for others. This doesn’t feel like a transition. It feels like a coup.
The Founding Fathers were focused on intervention by foreign governments. They never considered an internal coup.
