My husband, a recently deceased World War II Veteran, and I, as contributors to the Fallen Warriors Monument, favor Bill Reynolds’ proposal to extend the existing pergola at Veterans Historical Plaza to accommodate our Fallen Warriors Monument (“Local veteran proposes tweak to war monument,” Nov. 24 in The Signal).
This will be a dedicated pergola specifically for the Fallen Warriors Monument, and it will enhance our Veterans Plaza. Placement of the monument will not intrude on the existing pergola.
The Leao-Martin family endorses this “proposed tweak,” and we urge our city leaders to take charge of the Fallen Warriors Monument and get it placed, in a dedicated area, within our Veterans Historical Plaza.
Let’s get this project completed and move forward for all of our veterans and our community who have so strongly supported the monument.
