Frank Arenson: Proud of our young military men

Gary Horton’s latest column singling out veterans, or possibly those just dressed up as veterans, overall was a bunch of disjointed statements.

The most insulting comment was the accusation that Santa Clarita is joining the U.S.A’s attempt to militarize our nation by hanging banners on our streets with pictures of our local military men and women.

One of my grandsons, a Marine, has a flag on Valencia Boulevard soon to be joined by my grandson-in-law’s flag, a young man with a family of his own who has re-upped twice in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Our family could not be more proud of these two fine young men, and we do not look at any of the faces on those flags around Santa Clarita as militarizing our city.

    Well said, Frank!
Exactly right. I couldn’t agree more.
