I have lived in the Newhall County Water District for over 40 years. I oppose Senate Bill 634 because it makes me upset that a few water board members can make our water district go away without even asking the voters.

Nobody asked for our opinion. They just held meetings to tell us what a great idea it was to merge with another water district – after they decided to do it.

I didn’t elect those Newhall County Water District board members to take our water district away and give it to the Castaic Lake Water Agency. I elected them to oversee it and make sure it is run well.

With all the concern over voter turnout, you would think these people would want to give us a vote and hear what we have to say about this idea.
