West Ranch volleyball wrapped up the league season with a sweep of Canyon at Canyon on Tuesday. Game scores were 25-14, 26-24, 25-11.

Ari Romagnano ended the night with 10 digs and three aces. Allison Jacobs totaled 26 kills.

The Wildcats finished fourth in the Foothill League with an 11-13 overall record and 5-5 league record. Although the top three teams in league secure spots in the CIF-Southern Section playoffs, West Ranch, a Division 3 team, has the chance at an at-large bid.

“I’m very proud of these girls,” said first-year Cats coach Jamey Ker. “There have been some high highs and some low lows. But they never lost their passion for what we were doing. I am really hoping we get the at-large bid into CIF because they are very ready to make a push for the championship.”

Canyon ended the season 7-11-2 and 1-9.

Faith Baptist 3, SCCS 0

Santa Clarita Christian School fell to Faith Baptist of Canoga Park 23-25, 22-25, 26-28.

Kalona Marr led the Cardinals with 10 kills and tied with Austen Hermanson and Vanessa Cardenas for first on the team in terms of digs with eight. Megan Dombrowski had five aces and Aaronya Crosswhite had six kills.

The Contenders were the only team this season to sweep SCCS, which was ranked sixth in Division 9 in the CIF-SS polls this week.

The Cards (14-5 overall, 6-3 in Heritage League) finish the season third in the Heritage League behind Trinity Classical Academy and league champion Faith Baptist (14-6-4, 9-1).

Trinity nabbed second place on Oct. 19 with a sweep of Palmdale Aerospace Academy.

Brackets for the CIF-SS playoffs will come out on Thursday at 3 p.m., according to section’s official website, cifss.org.
