Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital announced it will host its 39th annual Holiday Home Tour and preview gala this December.
A fundraising project in 1981, which was established by the Hospital Auxiliary, served as the first Holiday Home Tour held in the Santa Clarita Valley, and in 1982, the Home Tour League was founded to expand the volunteer base and promote participation from the community, according to a news release from the hospital. A preview gala would later be added in 1990 to celebrate the Home Tour League’s 10th anniversary, and the gala was so successful that it became an annual event.
This year’s preview gala is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the Hyatt Regency Valencia, located at 24500 Town Center Drive, according to the release. Homes will be open for viewing from 5 to 7 p.m., and tickets will be sold in advance for $150 per person.
Residents who are unable to attend this year’s preview gala will have another opportunity to tour the three homes, located in the Sand Canyon area of Canyon Country, at the Holiday Home Tour scheduled Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., according to tour officials. Tickets may be purchased for $35 on the day of the event or in advance for $30 at the hospital gift shop, henrymayogiving.com/tour, or at select Santa Clarita Valley vendors.
“We’re in full planning mode for our Dec. 7 tour and our Dec. 6 preview gala at (the) Hyatt Regency Valencia,” Home Tour President Mary K. Judy said in a news release, adding, “You don’t want to miss this year’s tour.”
The Holiday Home Tour Boutique is also scheduled Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Henry Mayo Center, which is located on the hospital’s campus at 23803 McBean Parkway. Officials said this is a free event offering a wide selection of gifts for sale.
“We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated support group who not only work tirelessly to raise funds for Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, but who also do it with such style. The Home Tour Preview Gala and Tour is the perfect event to kick off the holidays in the Santa Clarita Valley,” said Marlee Lauffer, president of the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation. “We are also grateful for the homeowners who generously open up their lovely homes for the tour, helping us to provide quality health care for our community.”
