“Rick Patterson has long been a supporter of Santa Clarita Valley schools and a respected member of the area’s legal community. His efforts to give back over the years have had a tremendously positive influence on the Santa Clarita Valley.”

— Richard Budman, Signal Publisher/Owner

A founding partner of Owen Patterson & Owen, a personal injury law firm, Rick Patterson has garnered millions in settlements for victims, but also volunteered and given generously on behalf of Santa Clarita Valley students.

Patterson has also been a major supporter for the Santa Clarita Committee on Aging, which operates the SCV’s Senior Center, helping with programs like home-delivered meals program that provides seniors with food.

Perhaps Patterson’s largest support came to the SCV through his fundraising efforts on behalf of schools. Patterson, a panel attorney for the California Association of Realtors and SCV Bar Association honoree, Patterson is not only a leader in his field, but also someone who’s helped lobby on behalf of SCV residents in Sacramento.

One of Patterson’s lasting feats was his work on the passage of Assembly Bill 534, which made “surrogate stalking,” or publishing photos, descriptions and locations of children with malintent, a misdemeanor.
