The polls suggest that 60% of Republicans, 70% of independents and 90% of Democrats are in favor of the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill.
However, no Republicans in Congress voted for the law, either in the House or Senate. Our own Rep. Mike Garcia joined the other GOP legislators with his “no” vote. He followed up his support for the voiding of the presidential election results with another backstab of his 25th District voters. It is lost on me how he can plan to hold on to his office when he fails to represent the majority of the electorate who voted for him.
So what am I thankful for? One, I got my two Pfizer vaccination shots. Two, we really would be in deep Bandini if the incompetent Donald J. Trump was still our president. Three, the GOP members of Congress who followed the party line and joined in the circular firing squad can only survive if they can execute their playbook on voter suppression. Four, Garcia is going fishing in 2022.
