Santa Clarita Elks Lodge 2379 hosted its annual car and bike show on Saturday, which featured classic, custom and muscle cars, along with motorcycles. Lodge officials said this year’s show brought in over 70 vehicles, more than they’ve ever had over the past 15 years of doing the event.
According to lodge President Mike Brandriff, the Elks Lodge is a vital community resource, and the car and bike show plays a key role in its efforts to give back.

“And it’s all about giving back,” he said. “You raise funds, and then you give it back.”
Wayne Edwards, a past president of the lodge, listed some of the charities that the lodge has helped over the years, including the Young Marines, Bridge to Home, and Child & Family Center, among many others.

Edwards added that last year’s car and bike show raised over $14,000.
“Then, what we do is, at the end of this,” he said, “the committee sits down, and they figure out what local charities to give to each year.”
The car and bike show included boutique vendors inside the lodge, a bake sale, hot dogs and tri-tip sandwiches for guests, and a chili cookoff.
The local Catch 22 Band offered up country music and classic rock during the event. The parking lot and lodge were packed most of the day.
