The College of the Canyons Student Health & Wellness Center hosted its annual “Shine A Light” event on Sept. 23 and 24. As a visual representation of the social issue of suicide, the college’s Honor Grove was filled with 1,100 white plastic chairs — each representing a college student who has lost their life to suicide in the United States during the past year.
