Question: Robert, is an epoxy floor something that an average homeowner can install to a garage? I want to have this clean look and easy-clean surface, but don’t necessarily want to spend what it would cost to have a contractor do it. Thoughts?

Answer: Wesley, yes, the average person can do this, given enough patience. The prep of the floor is key, as all oils and debris need to be stripped from it for proper adhesion of the chemicals. Depending on the level of damage to the floor, it may take several rounds of chemical cleaning and even grinding of the concrete, to get it completely ready. There are also chemicals that will etch the concrete, in lieu of, or addition to, grinding.
If you are able and willing to do the necessary prep, the application of the products is the easy part. Best of luck.
