The Group SoCal, a local nonprofit real estate organization, recently celebrated the end of its first year by giving back to two local charities, the group announced in a news release.
As part of its commitment to helping the communities it serves, the group donated $1,000 to the RISE Foundation in Santa Clarita and $1,000 to Royal Family Kids Camp in the Antelope Valley. Both organizations provide vital support to foster children and foster families throughout the region, the release said.
The celebration and check presentation took place at The Magic Castles of Newhall, a historic venue tucked just off 8th Street in Downtown Newhall. Built in the late 1920s and originally purchased by vaudeville comedian Charlie Mack, the property has welcomed notable visitors including W.C. Fields — who even lived there for a time — William S. Hart, John Wayne, and more.
