Leib named to Samford University dean’s list 

Evan Leib, a Christian/religious studies major from Valencia, was named to Samford University’s Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester. 

To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The dean’s list is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester. 

Located in the Homewood suburb of Birmingham, Alabama, Samford is a Christian university offering undergraduate programs grounded in the liberal arts with an array of graduate and professional schools. Founded in 1841, Samford enrolls 6,324 students from 44 states, Puerto Rico and 16 countries in its 10 academic schools. 

3 local students named to Utah Tech president’s list 

Three local students were among the 951 students named to the president’s list at Utah Tech University for the fall 2025 semester. To qualify, students had to attain a semester GPA of 3.9 or higher and complete at least 15 credits. 

Local students earning president’s list honors for the fall 2025 semester included: 

• Dylann Pinto, of Canyon Country. 

• Kevin Fonseca, of Valencia. 

• Laila Mendoza, of Newhall. 

Utah Tech University, in St. George, Utah, now offers nearly 300 academic programs. 

Local students earn dean’s list honors at Bemidji State University 

Jean-Luc Hounanian, of Santa Clarita, has earned dean’s list honors at Bemidji State University for the fall 2025 semester.  

To be eligible for the dean’s list, BSU students must enroll in at least 12 credits and earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester. Of the 716 students named to the list, some have received distinctions multiple times. 

Located in Bemidji, Minnesota, Bemidji State University is a member of the colleges and universities of Minnesota State. 

Michael Schubert named to Iowa State University fall 2025 dean’s list 

More than 11,800 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the 2025 fall semester dean’s list, including Michael Schubert, a mechanical engineering major from Castaic. 

Students named to the dean’s list must earn a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
