The smash-hit musical “We Will Rock You,” featuring the iconic music of Queen and book by Ben Elton, is coming to Santa Clarita, “promising a fun and campy, high-energy spectacle,” Olive Branch Theatricals announced in a news release.
“This futuristic musical adventure — set in a world where live music is forbidden — comes to thrill audiences with 24 of Queen’s greatest hits,” the release said of the production that opens this weekend and runs through March 29.
“We Will Rock You” tells the story of a group of Bohemian rebels fighting for freedom, individuality, and the rebirth of rock in a corporate-controlled future, the release said. They don’t know what rock ‘n; roll is or was, but they’re determined to find out.
“The production is characterized by its powerful vocals, minimal staging, and, as Queen’s Brian May noted, a message that is ‘even more relevant now than when we began,’” the release said.
Shows are scheduled 7 p.m. March 14, 21, 27 and 28; and 2 p.m. March 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29. The Olive Branch theater is located at Valencia Town Center, 24201 Valencia Blvd., Suite 2283, Valencia.
