I see that (some) electric energy companies are promoting ways to help us conserve electricity. I assume it’s to reduce the strain on consumer pocketbooks as well as the strain on the electric grid during peak hours. I feel that conservation is only a half-solution. One can only conserve a marginal amount.
(Energy companies) need to promote the use of balcony solar panels, like those sold in hardware stores, to renters and homeowners in Europe. They are cheap, plug directly into a wall socket, are safe, and can create enough electricity to run appliances. (This may eat into corporate profitability.)
I would like all electric energy companies to be active in standardizing the regulations to allow their purchase in the U.S. A progressive Congress would provide society with the laws needed to purchase this energy-creating solar panel.
