Santa Clarita Valley mini-megachurch leaders, I’ll ask again: When will you trade allegiance to a man and to political power, and return to the virtues of the gospel you proclaim from your pulpits?

What we are witnessing from the president’s public statements and behavior is not simply a matter of style — it is a pattern that conflicts with the very values many of you preach. Profanity in what should be a sacred holiday message shows a lack of reverence. Substituting provocation for unity on Easter reflects a disregard for the spiritual significance of the day. And invoking religious language or imagery in a flippant or performative way risks reducing faith to a political prop rather than a source of truth and humility.

Most troubling is the self-aggrandizing imagery — portraying oneself in Christ-like terms, even as a meme. Christianity is rooted in humility, sacrifice and truth. Elevating oneself in that way is fundamentally at odds with those teachings.

These are not minor missteps. They point to a deeper issue: the use of religion as a tool for attention, power, or division rather than as a call to accountability, repentance and service.

Again, I urge you: Take to your pulpits, use your platforms and speak clearly. If the values you preach mean anything, this is the moment to stand for them.
