The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is inviting the community to a pair of events Thursday — one designed to allow residents to connect with local deputies over a cup of coffee and one aiming to raise funds for the Special Olympics.
In the morning, SCV Sheriff’s Station deputies will host a “Coffee with a Cop” event from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at San Fernando Coffee Company, located at 22722 Lyons Ave. in Newhall.
This informal event provides an opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and connect with the deputies who serve the SCV community, said a news release from the station.
Then, when dinner time rolls around, deputies are inviting the community to a “Tip-A-Cop” fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Southern California from 5 to 9 p.m. at Red Robin, located at 27063 McBean Parkway in Valencia.
During the event, deputies and Special Olympics Southern California athletes will serve guests while collecting tips to support Special Olympics programs and athletes.
