Dr. Kelly Walsma, who is board certified in critical care, pulmonary and neurocritical care medicine, was recently appointed to the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital board of directors, the hospital announced in a news release.
Walsma has served as an intensivist physician at Henry Mayo since 2017. She serves as president of SCCT Medical Group and is chair of Henry Mayo’s Ethics Committee.
Walsma completed her pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of Southern California, where she was named Fellow of the Year, and previously earned Resident of the Year during her internal medicine residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
“I am pleased to welcome Dr. Walsma to the Henry Mayo board,” Dale Donohoe, Henry Mayo board chair, said in the news release. “Her clinical expertise and medical staff leadership skills will be of great value in her role as a board member.”
Henry Mayo’s board of directors oversees the overall quality and sustainability of hospital services and operations and its members serve without compensation.
