News release
Samuel Dixon Family Health Center’s annual fundraiser, The Dixon Duck Dash, returns for its 23rd year on Sunday.
This family-friendly community event is scheduled to take place on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center, 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway.
The Duck Dash brings families, friends and community members together for an afternoon of fun while helping support SDFHC’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality health care to individuals and families throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, said a news release from the nonprofit health care organization.
The highlight of the day will be the duck races, with thousands of rubber ducks racing down the course in multiple heats throughout the event. Participants can cheer on their ducks while enjoying a variety of activities throughout the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center, including splashing around in the kids’ activity pool, testing their diving skills in the dive pool and enjoying the music curated by DJ Fern.
Admission to the Duck Dash is just a $5 duck race entry per person. Entries can be purchased online at www.sdfhc.org/duckdash2026or in person at the event.
“The more ducks you enter, the greater your impact in helping provide health care to someone in need — and the greater your chance of winning the grand prize: a family four-pack of tickets to Disneyland,” the release said.
In addition to the duck races and aquatic activities, attendees can enjoy a variety of interactive experiences and family-friendly activities provided by event vendors. Activities will include a calm bottle making station, a Duck-O-Ration booth, balloon artists, a photo booth where families can capture memories from the day. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Local nonprofit organizations and businesses will also be on hand offering community resources, information, interactive activities and giveaways.
“We are thrilled to bring the Duck Dash back for its 23rd year,” Philip Solomon, CEO of Samuel Dixon Family Health Center Inc., said in the release. “This event has become a wonderful Santa Clarita Valley tradition, bringing people together for a day of family fun while raising critical support for health care services in our community. Every duck entered into the race helps us continue our work of making sure people have access to the care they need, regardless of their ability to pay.”
