As it turns out, there’s more football to be played for local high school teams, and you can watch both remaining squads in Friday night’s CIF-Southern Section semifinals without leaving the Santa Clarita Valley.

One from the stands. And one from your couch.

After beating Arroyo Grande, 52-24, in the Division 2 quarterfinals last week, Valencia High (10-2) advanced to a semifinal at San Clemente (9-3) on Friday at 7 p.m.

Yes, the game is on the road, but it will be live streamed online by Fox Sports Prep Zone with Valencia aiming to advance to the fifth CIF-SS title game in program history.

The Vikings are currently 0-4 in title bouts.

Valencia played San Clemente in the postseason three straight years from 2002 to 2004.

It lost to the Tritons in the first round in 2002. It lost to the Tritons in the quarterfinals in 2003. And Valencia finally beat them, 37-7, in the 2004 Division 2 semifinals before losing to Mission Viejo in the final, 49-21.

Golden Valley (8-4) is looking to advance to its first title game. In its first-ever playoff appearance, the Grizzlies beat No. 2 seed El Segundo, 28-7, in a Division 7 quarterfinal at Canyon High last week.

The Grizzlies will again be at Canyon on Friday when they host San Gorgonio of San Bernardino (9-3).

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

Both Golden Valley and Valencia, with a win, would be on the road in the finals.

Look for a player profile from Valencia and Golden Valley in Thursday’s edition of The Signal. There will be game previews in Friday’s paper.
