Karla H. Edwards | Editor Missed a Misplaced Comma

It might be The Signal’s policy not to edit letters received from readers, but I can’t help calling attention to the misplaced comma in Richard Myers’ letter. I’m guessing he meant to say, “…as she knows it, but her memory…” instead of, “…as she knows, it but her memory…”

A question in the letter from Darlene Chandler: Should the word “earth” be capitalized when used in a sentence? “How on Earth would Canyon View…?”

Editor’s note: You’re correct about the misplaced comma. The earth/Earth question is a judgment call on whether it’s being used as a proper noun to refer to the planet. We opted for “yes.”
